SmCo magnet has high magnetic energy product and coercive force. Its magnetic energy product can be so high as 262KJ/m3 (33MGOe). Magnetic components made of SmCo magnet have characteristics of small size, light weight, and stable performance. It is applicable to electro-acoustic/telecommunication parts, electric machines, measure dashboards, gyro, electro-clocks/-watches, microwave machines, sensors, and other applications of static or dynamic circuit.
SmCo has high Curie temperature (800°C~850°C) and low temperature coefficient (lower than ±300ppm/°C). It has good temperature stability; its normal material is workable at ≦300°C while high temperature resistant material up to 500°C, which is the most significant difference from other types of permanent magnet.
SmCo magnet has high hardness and brittleness, while low bending strength, tensile strength, and compressive strength, thus it is not good material for mechanical process. We would recommend not using it as a structural component.
Major ingredient of SmCo magnet is high purity of Co (Co≧99.95%), hence it is relatively more expensive than other rare earth magnet.
SmCo magnet has stronger corrosion resistant property; hence it does not require coating treatment similar to NdFeB magnet. If clients require special surface protection, we provide various coating according to your requirements.
